Other than this awesome video my day left me wishing for a bottle in front of me… if not just a lobotomy. But I was stronger than my impulse and ended up trying to fix my account with National Student Loan Peoplez…. I hope it finally works… i’ve been overpaying 100 dollars a month at least for school:/

On a bright note, When I think about all the scary things ahead like financial instability – I also get to think of the things I wasn’t doing much of before due to the lack of “inside interest”… So I’m signing up for an unlimited Yoga Pass at a Studio down the street, getting a new phone, setting up my house to have an area that I can use to make VideoLogs, oh and I can finally get a rat and teach it neat tricks!!! ^_^

My miniature Brother the king of all things frozen! (no, not like that movie)

My mom lives back in Toronto… or should i say Thornhill? Or Borough of Vaughan? // Bathurst and Steeles, the Russian-Jewish community of Toronto is located right around that intersection. Well, she send me some photos of my brother ice skating ^_^ and I promised to edit them – get rid of ugly backgrounds, crop them , dodge and burn and all that lovely stuff!

Today, I finally got around to getting a couple of them done 🙂 yay!

Here’s what a few Curly Accent dreads look like mixed with my own dreads ::)

Today I have finally sealed some of the accent kit gifts for the lovely folks at Dreadlocks UK facebook group 🙂 as promised – they will be ready to be shipped ASAP; however, first I must take some lovely photos of them! 😉

So get ready for a photo dump you guys!!! ^_^

Sometimes, you work hard, you push yourself, you start to achieve the goals you had set out for yourself… and then a major flip around happens in your life and everything comes to a stall. How do we not let such an event hinder our creativity and motivation? How do we stop this from killing out ambitions???

Currently, my apartment is a huge mess and a huge reminder of everything that is happening in my life. It however is also a reminder of past times when similar event had occurred… and what scares me the most about it all is that – I am afraid to fall into a hole of despair and give up not only on myself but all the others that have been there for me. I am genuinely terrified of what’s going to happen and more than anything – I am afraid of letting down all the people that I care about … be they childhood friends or people I have only interacted with over the interwebz/

More than anything, right now I need those that have any contact with me to understand the emotional turmoil I’m in right now and not take it personally when I can’t bring myself to be .. myself.

Shampoos and Sulphates!

We have all heard about how bad sulphates used in commercial shampoos and cleaning products are.. but is it all true? is it as black and white as it’s being painted?

Let me note that Synth Dreads can be washed with pretty much any soap or shampoo as long as you do it gently!

Also I have made a dread accent kit  and started on a new naturals Ombre themed premake set :))

Dantes The Dog

As some of you may already know – I own a 5 year old shih -tzu /Labrador mix dog. He is truly awesome and friendly and even has a profile on Dogster.com

Anyone notice that I extended my dreads? Yeah, they are  A LOT longer now :))) I feel like soon I will decorate them :))) thought first I should probably touch up the color… But I really can’t pick a color

Aurora Borealis

Hello, halo

The other day I noticed plenty of beautiful shots of the Northern Lights as seen from Ottawa and Quebec on my facebook feed. The storm was supposed to last one more day so I went out to try to get the shot… and no one ended up seeing anymore lights 😦  So then my LED hoop came to my mood’s rescue! I ran over to my friend Jesse’s house and we took some time to practice creating light trails using an off-camera-flash !

Here’s a composite of a couple pictures, the background I used is the sunset from my old apartment in Toronto at Dovercourt and Bloor; Main photo is just myself spinning the hoop in a “ball” and then light trails from another photo from the same shoot were added to give it more of a circus’y feel :))

A silly little composite of two snaps from the borealis-failure-evening and one from many years ago when I lived Downtown in Toronto @ Dovercourt and Bloor… I miss seeing the sunset reflect in all the glass of the windows of the building to the left… A good friend of mine also lived in that building for a while. Ironically, during that period we were not on speaking term and therefore have never been to each other’s places while living in the same complex 😛

Now, that’s a vortex!)

Back in Ottawa

Two weeks ago I spent a rather crazy few days in Toronto. Somehow made it back in one piece. My steamer didn’t. I totally left A PART of it in Toronto… yeah… morning buses and stuff are to blame.. I swear!

Then a flu happened. In fact I still feel weak and sad. But maybe if I get some of the less fun “projects” that I’ve been working on out of the way early next week – I will gain some self confidence back… and isn’t that the basic requirement of happiness?

Here we have some Black to Emerald Green wrappy transitional dreads *prior* to having the ends sealed ))) I prefer to seal all the dreads in a set at the very end of the progress – that way i get to control the look of the install better.

In a later post I will explain the different styles you can achieve by installing synthetic or wool dreads strategically. Because there are many looks that can be achieved just like with hair cutting! Give yourself crazy layers! Make your dreads look fuller ! Make your synth kit appear as long as it can possibly look! Or the as short as it can! Or you can keep them on the conservative side and allow a blunt edge bob! I promise to let you in on this little *secret* 😉
